The First Regional Development Project of Maldives is the first major initiative to implement the Government policy of equitable development and is financed through the Asian Development Bank (ADB) with co-finance from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB). The project will provide for more equitable development of the Maldives through focused regional efforts in the Northern Development Region (Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu and Shaviyani Atolls) and Southern Development Region (Gaafu Alifu, Gaafu Dhaalu, Gnaviyani and Addu Atolls) and will be a catalyst for economic growth.
